Vijayakanth died on Thursday 28th December,2023 due to pneumonia. The actor tested positive for Covid-19 and was on ventilator support. Condolences have been coming in from his legions of fans and colleagues. From 14 December 2023, the DMDK is led by Vijayakant’s wife Premalatha Vijayakant as general secretary of the party.
