IIFA2024, the 2024 edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards unfolded with dazzling splendor in Abu Dhabi on September 29th, 2024. Hosted with Music and Culture lighting up the golden shores of and grandeur of Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, the event brought together Bollywood’s finest to celebrate a year of cinematic excellence.
As the world’s largest celebration of Indian cinema, the event didn’t disappoint. From spellbinding performances to emotional speeches and grand tributes, IIFA 2024 was a night to remember. Bollywood stars recognizes descended on the red carpet, bringing glamour, glitz, and unforgettable performances that left fans across the globe in awe. The three-day celebration kicked off on September 27 with IIFA Utsavam, an event dedicated to the southern film industries–Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan won the Best Actor award at the IIFA2024 Awards on Saturday, September 28, for his remarkable performance in “Jawan.” He revealed that he and his family faced a “tough time” during the development of the film. However, he expressed his joy at finishing the year on a high note after winning the award for the action blockbuster at the IIFA2024 ceremony.
Directed by Atlee, Jawan explores the emotional journey of a man determined to right societal wrongs. Shah Rukh Khan played dual roles as Vikram Rathore and his son, Azad. While hosting Saturday’s IIFA Awards alongside Vicky Kaushal and Karan Johar, Shah Rukh mentioned that he generally prefers not to discuss his personal life, but he revealed that Jawan was created under significant stress.

The NEXA IIFA Awards 2024 recognized the motivational and thought-provoking cinema of Vidhu Vinod Chopra as he receives the accolade in the category of Direction for the movie 12th Fail.
In one of the videos, Rekha, 69, dressed beautifully in a pink Anarkali suit, performs the song “Piya Tose Naina Laage Re.” Another video features her dancing to the song “Pardesiya” from her 1979 film Mr. Natwarlal, where she shared the screen with Amitabh Bachchan.
Several pictures of her performance were shared on the official Instagram account of IIFA with the caption, “The night lights up as the iconic and ever-glowing Rekha gives a stunning performance on the stage of the NEXA IIFA Awards 2024 (sic).”
Megastar Chiranjeevi is expected to receive a special award for his enduring impact on South Indian cinema. Some power-packed performances by Chiranjeevi, Bala Krishnan, and Prabhu Deva are also being planned.
