A US military aircraft has crashed off Yakushima Island in south-western Japan
In an un expected event the Ospreys– (named after sea hawk) and which can function both as helicopter and a turboprop aircraft crashed while trying to land at Yakushima Airport with one engine on fire. It was carrying six crew members aboard & all This V-22 Ospreys is hybrid plane History is not so good about this aircraft with earlier fatal crashes reported.
As per Japan’s defense ministry, the aircraft disappeared from the radar at 14:40 local time (05:40 GMT) on Wednesday.

Immediately six boats and two helicopters were sent to the scene. At 16:00, the helicopters spotted the aircraft wreckage. However, Another Osprey aircraft accompanying landed safely at Yakushima, local officials said.
Earlier in August, another Osprey crashed during military exercise in which three US marines among the 23 on board were killed.
Three marines were killed in 2017, when an Osprey crashed after clipping the back of a transport ship while trying to land at sea off the Australia’s northern coast.
This is specially built aircraft which can fly as both helicopter and fix wing plane is utilized by US Navy and US Marines. This US military helicopter has vertical take off and landing as well short take off and landing (VTOL) both capabilities.
